Congratulations! Discover How 62 USTM Students Triumphantly Conquer the UGC-NET Exam
Guwahati, Oct 19: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has set a benchmark in guiding students to excel in national-level competitive exams, credited largely to its distinctive Pay Back Policy. This initiative not only rewards academic brilliance by refunding the entire course fee to successful students but also contributes to impressive results. In the latest exams held in June, 62 USTM students cleared the UGC and CSIR NET & JRF exams, adding to a notable 386 achievers in the recent past.
Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque emphasized USTM’s dedication to expanding its coaching programs, aspiring not just for student success in exams but for leadership in their respective fields. He highlighted the institution’s commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder brilliant students from pursuing higher education.
Vice Chancellor Prof GD Sharma congratulated the successful students, attributing their achievements to comprehensive coaching programs that extend beyond mere academics. USTM enhances student preparedness through soft skills training, interview workshops, and motivational seminars, reinforcing its devotion to academic excellence.
Dr. Trishna Thakuria, Director of the University NET Forum, revealed that Rs 1.3 crores have been reimbursed to achievers as part of the Pay Back Policy, underscoring USTM’s best practices. She elaborated on the incentive scheme encouraging students to excel in top-level competitive exams like NET, GATE, and SLET, with qualified candidates getting their fees reimbursed. USTM’s NET Forum diligently conducts evening classes for UGC NET preparation.
In line with its Outreach Mission, USTM proudly offers free coaching for exams such as the National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility Test (SLET), and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) through its Centre for Competitive Examination. The NET Forum, operational since 2017, plays a pivotal role in this initiative, fortifying USTM’s foundational commitment to educational empowerment and regional development.
