Revolutionary Citizen Sentinel App Unveiled: Empowering Keralites to Curb Traffic Violations with Confidence

Kerala’s Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar has launched Citizen Sentinel, a new app designed to empower the public to report traffic rule violations. Available on the Google Play Store, the app enables users to upload photos and videos up to 8 MB of any transgressions, which are then verified by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) officials. Verified violations will lead to e-challans being issued to the offending vehicle owners. Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), this initiative is part of Kerala’s 100-day action plan to enhance road safety. The app facilitates direct sharing of visual evidence with the relevant MVD control room, promising a streamlined approach to monitoring and enforcing traffic laws.
