On October 12, 2024, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.), participated virtually in the e-inauguration of 75 projects by the Border Roads Organization. The event, led by Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh, marked a significant milestone in infrastructure development, with the Defence Minister inaugurating from the Sherathang – Kupup Road in Sikkim, while the Governor joined from Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.
The projects include three road projects, fourteen bridge projects, and a helipad project in Arunachal Pradesh, all highlighting the strategic importance of these developments for both state and national interests. Governor Parnaik emphasized that these infrastructure enhancements will strengthen national security, improve both surface and air communication, and promote tourism in the region.
He expressed gratitude towards the Central Government for its role in executing these critical projects, which are expected to catalyze socio-economic growth, especially in border areas. The Governor also noted that these projects will complement the Vibrant Border Village programme and bolster the State Government’s ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ initiative, which aims to deliver government services directly to the people.
By advancing connectivity and accessibility, this comprehensive infrastructure project promises to support the socio-economic upliftment of Arunachal Pradesh and ensure robust development in crucial border regions.
