Revolutionary Guidelines Unveiled for PM-Surya Ghar’s Muft Bijli Yojana: Empowering Homes with Free Solar Energy!
The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has announced guidelines for implementing innovative projects under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. This initiative earmarks 500 crore rupees to foster advancements in rooftop solar technology, innovative business models, and integration methods. The scheme aims to support startups, institutions, and industries by piloting new concepts, focusing particularly on solutions like integrating rooftop solar with electric vehicles and battery storage.
The National Institute of Solar Energy will act as the Scheme Implementation Agency for the innovative projects component. Under this initiative, selected projects can receive financial assistance covering up to 60% of the total project cost or 30 crore rupees, whichever is lower. This support is designed to stimulate pioneering efforts and enhance the country’s solar capacity.
The PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, approved by the Central Government in February, seeks to boost household self-sufficiency by increasing solar rooftop capacity and enabling residents to generate their own electricity. This national program underlines the government’s commitment to advancing renewable energy while encouraging creative solutions in the energy sector.
