Breaking: Exclusive WhatsApp Chat Themes Ignite Excitement Among Selected Users
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is reportedly rolling out a new feature that allows users to customize individual chat themes with 20 color options and 22 textured designs. This personalization option is designed to enhance user experience by enabling the application of unique themes to specific conversations.
According to WABetainfo, a platform dedicated to tracking WhatsApp updates, users can select a default theme for all chats via the app’s settings or apply a distinct theme for individual chats through the overflow menu. Themes automatically come with matching message colors, and further personalization is possible with wallpapers. Currently, this feature is being tested with select beta users, with a wider rollout anticipated soon. Some users might already access these features, even if the option is not immediately visible.
Additionally, WhatsApp has introduced a toggle option for tablet users to manage the side-by-side view. To utilize chat-specific themes, users must have the latest Android beta version 2.24.21.34 installed via the Google Play Store. For those using an Android tablet, disabling the “Side-by-side view” from Settings > Chats and restarting the app may activate themes, provided the account is eligible. Mobile users can also attempt enabling themes by adjusting DPI settings and disabling the side-by-side view, but this is contingent on account eligibility.
In contrast to the theming system on Facebook Messenger, which also offers chat-specific themes, WhatsApp’s approach allows each participant in a conversation to customize their chat independently, ensuring privacy and individualized customization. This development represents WhatsApp’s continued efforts to enhance user engagement through personalized features.
