Guwahati/Agartala, Oct 10: The northeastern states’ Chief Ministers expressed profound grief over the passing of Ratan Tata, a distinguished industrialist and Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group, who died on Wednesday night at 86. Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged Tata’s monumental contributions, highlighting the conferral of the “Assam Baibhav,” the state’s highest civilian award, to him in February 2022. Sarma praised Tata’s compassion, statesmanship, and pivotal role in several initiatives including the Assam Cancer Care Foundation and the Tata Semiconductor facility in Jagiroad.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha hailed Tata’s visionary leadership and entrepreneurial spirit that inspired many, extending condolences to his family and colleagues. Manipur Chief Minister N.
