Shocking Eviction: Atishi Forced Out of Delhi CM House Amidst AAP-Centre Clash
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been involuntarily removed from her official residence, sparking a fresh conflict between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the central government. The AAP alleges that Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena, under the influence of the BJP, forcefully evicted Atishi from the official bungalow and removed her belongings. However, sources from Saxena’s office refute these claims, suggesting that Atishi had previously stored and then removed her possessions from the house herself. They assert that the residence at 6 Flagstaff Road has not been officially allotted to Atishi, as she still holds the allocation for 17 AB Mathura Road.
Atishi had moved into the Flagstaff Road bungalow after Arvind Kejriwal vacated it, following his resignation as Chief Minister and subsequent relocation to 5 Ferozeshah Road. Visuals showed boxes and luggage being evicted from the residence, which is now double-locked. The Lieutenant Governor’s sources state that the necessary paperwork had not been submitted to the Public Works Department (PWD) for the official handover of keys.
The altercation over the bungalow allocation continues, with the AAP and BJP exchanging accusations supported by purported documents. The BJP, through Opposition Leader Vijender Gupta, presented a PWD letter indicating Kejriwal hadn’t properly vacated the bungalow. The AAP countered by accusing the BJP of attempting to seize the residence, asserting that documentary evidence confirms Kejriwal vacated the premises.
Sanjay Singh, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP, disputes the BJP’s claims, arguing the bungalow has not been officially reallotted. This dispute marks yet another chapter in the ongoing tensions between AAP and BJP, highlighting the complexities of political transitions and residence allotments in the capital.
