Unveiling Victory: Exclusive Insights into J&K and Haryana Assembly Election Results
The vote counting for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana has concluded. In Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a majority in the 90-member Legislative Assembly, retaining power for a third consecutive term. BJP claimed victory in 48 seats, while Congress won 37. Among the notable wins, BJP’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini triumphed in Ladwa, and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda won in Garhi Sampla Kiloi. In contrast, Jannayak Janta Party leader Dushyant Chautala finished fifth in Uchana Kalan.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the alliance between the National Conference (NC) and Congress is set to form the next government, having secured 48 seats combined out of 90. The NC won 42 seats, and Congress contributed six seats to the tally. The BJP managed to win 29 seats. Among independents and smaller parties, notable victories were achieved by Peerzada Mohammad Syed of Congress in Anantnag and Sajjad Gani Lone of the Jammu & Kashmir People’s Conference in Handwara. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of NC claimed victories in both Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies.
The elections in Haryana were held on October 5, while polling in Jammu and Kashmir occurred in three phases on September 18, September 25, and October 1. The results emphasize the political hold of major parties in these regions, with significant wins and losses shaping the future governance landscape.
