Shocking Halt: IAS Officer Puja Khedkar’s Maharashtra Training Suspended Amid Explosive Forgery Allegations
Training on Hold for IAS Officer Amid Allegations of Forgery
Probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar’s training in Maharashtra has been suspended following accusations of forging disability certificates to clear the Civil Services examination. The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie issued a letter on July 16, putting her District Training Program on hold and calling her back to the Academy for further action.
Officially, Khedkar has held the position of Supernumerary Assistant Collector in Washim, Maharashtra. The notice mandates her immediate relief from training duties and stipulates that she must report back to LBSNAA by July 23 at the latest.
This decision has intensified the controversy surrounding Khedkar’s civil services selection, with claims that she misused disability and Other Backward Class quotas to obtain her position.
Additionally, on July 15, an FIR was filed against Khedkar’s parents in Pune Rural. They are alleged to have threatened a local farmer and are currently evading authorities. Pune Rural’s Superintendent of Police, Pankaj Deshmukh, confirmed that efforts to contact the accused have been unsuccessful as their phones are switched off, and they have not been located at their residence.
The developments have spurred a broader discussion about the integrity and veracity of the selection processes for civil services. This case underscores the importance of stringent verification mechanisms to uphold the credibility of India’s prestigious examination systems.
