Heartfelt Condemnation: Chinese Foreign Ministry Deeply Shocked by Devastating Karachi Attack
China Urges Pakistan to Enhance Security for CPEC Amidst Deadly Attack
Beijing, Oct 7: China has called on Pakistan to implement more targeted measures to ensure the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions in Pakistan. This appeal follows a terrorist attack in Sindh Province, which resulted in the deaths of two Chinese nationals and injuries to others, both Chinese and Pakistani.
The attack took place late on Sunday night when a convoy linked to a Chinese project was ambushed near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed deep shock and strong condemnation of this violent act, emphasizing their grief for the victims and support for the families affected.
In response to the incident, the Chinese Foreign Ministry, along with its Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan, promptly activated an emergency response plan to handle the situation’s repercussions. They have urged the Pakistani government to focus on aiding the injured, managing the aftermath, and conducting a swift investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the attack.
Additionally, China has insisted on closing existing security gaps and implementing more robust measures to protect the CPEC and safeguard Chinese workers and interests in Pakistan. In light of the incident, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has issued an alert for Chinese citizens and enterprises within the country, advising them to stay vigilant about local security conditions, enhance security protocols, and prioritize safety precautions.
As reported by Xinhua News Agency, this attack underscores the ongoing security challenges faced in the region, prompting urgent bilateral cooperation to prevent future incidents and protect valuable international collaborations.
