Heartfelt Visit: Dy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar’s Inspiring Journey to Namdong CHC
Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Sniawbhalang Dhar, conducted an official visit to the Namdong Community Health Center (CHC) in West Jaintia Hills District on October 5. Accompanied by Namdong Headman DS War, Secretary Serus Lipon, and other local leaders, Dhar inspected the facility and interacted with Dr. Arda Laloo and medical staff. The CHC presented a letter detailing its challenges, prompting constructive discussions with the Deputy Chief Minister, who also serves as the area’s Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
Dhar pledged to address the facility’s urgent needs, including the recruitment of doctors, staff nurses, and additional personnel. He committed to infrastructure improvements, such as paving the access road to the CHC, providing an ambulance, and repainting the building and staff quarters. Emphasizing the importance of efficiency, he urged employees to diligently perform their duties and foster stronger cooperation between the CHC and village authorities to better serve the local population.
Additionally, Dhar visited the planned site for the Namdong C&R Block office. He assured residents that once operational, the new block office would allow them to conduct necessary administrative tasks locally, eliminating the need to travel to the Thadlaskeiñ Block.
Dhar’s visit underscores the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services and local governance, aligning with broader efforts to improve infrastructure and resource allocation in Meghalaya’s rural areas. His assurances aim to boost morale among health workers and community leaders, fostering a collaborative environment for community development.
