Patna: In a shocking incident, Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, was found brutally murdered at their ancestral home in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. Jitan Sahani’s mutilated body was discovered on his bed early this morning. Senior police officer Jagannath Reddy has confirmed the incident, stating that a police team is already on-site. This gruesome event has sent waves of panic through the local community.
Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, leads the VIP, which has considerable support within the OBC community. The party is currently aligned with the RJD and Congress in the INDIA Opposition bloc. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder occurred during a burglary attempt, as per Senior Officer Manish Chandra Chaudhary.
In response to the heinous crime, a special three-member investigation team has been formed to delve into the matter, as confirmed by Senior Officer Reddy. The episode has ignited a political firestorm, with the main opposition RJD vehemently criticizing the Nitish Kumar government. RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav expressed profound shock over the incident, denouncing the current administration for what he called a breakdown in law and order.
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary labeled the event “unfortunate” and assured that strict measures will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice. “The government stands firmly with Mukesh Sahani ji’s family,” he affirmed.
Furthermore, Neeraj Kumar of the ruling JDU conveyed that top police officials are actively investigating the crime scene. “Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits,” he stated. Union Minister and LJP (Ramvilas) leader Chirag Paswan also condemned the murder and promised swift action. “My condolences go out to Mukesh Sahani ji and his family,” he said.
This tragic incident has cast a grim shadow over the region, with multiple political leaders calling for immediate and stringent action against the culprits.
