Major Fire at Tata Electronics Facility Successfully Contained with Workers Safely Evacuated
A significant fire broke out at the Tata Electronics facility located in Nagamangalam, Denkanikottai, Krishnagiri district on Saturday. The blaze was successfully subdued within approximately three and a half hours by the concerted efforts of 10 fire engines.
On Sunday, District Monitoring Officer and State Programme Manager of the National Health Mission, Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, conducted an inspection of the site. She confirmed to journalists that the fire had been entirely extinguished. At the time of the incident, 523 workers were inside the facility; all were safely evacuated without any major injuries.
Out of 11 individuals who reported breathing difficulties and were admitted to a private hospital in Hosur, nine have since been moved to regular wards, while the other two remain in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.
Proactive measures have been taken to manage any potential health emergencies in the vicinity, including the readiness of ambulances equipped with medical supplies and a mobile medical team for pregnant women and those with chronic conditions. Local primary health centers and government hospitals have also been equipped with additional beds to accommodate any further medical needs.
