Revolutionary Musi Master Plan: Your Step-by-Step Blueprint for a Breathtaking Transformation in Just One Year!
Principal Secretary M. Dana Kishore announced on Saturday, September 28, 2024, that a global tender will soon finalize an international agency to prepare an Aggregate Master Plan for Musi Riverfront Development within a year. The development, involving an East-West corridor along the river, aims to ease commuting to the Outer Ring Road and include heritage bridges for hawkers.
Leveraging Godavari water, 15 tmcft will be allocated, with 5 tmcft filling twin reservoirs—2.5 tmcft for city drinking water and the remainder for Musi. Ten tmcft will cater to Western Hyderabad’s drinking water needs. The clean water target for Musi is set for June-July 2026, backed by a ₹10,000 crore government sanction.
For ecological enhancement, 13 new sewage treatment plants with a capacity of 970 million litres daily will be set up outside GHMC and within ORR, funded with ₹3,800 crore. Additionally, a ₹7,000 crore sewerage network proposal has been submitted to the Asian Development Bank, with specific initiatives already underway in Karwan and Chaderghat, totaling ₹650 crore. Strategic Nala Development Project Phase-II focuses on separating stormwater and sewage lines, with ₹586 crore allocated for identified areas, including 34 critical narrow street locations.
