In a decisive operation near the international border, Assam Police apprehended and pushed back seventeen Bangladeshi infiltrators, including children. The individuals were identified as Harul Lamin, Umai Khunsum, Md. Ismail, Sansida Begum, Rufiya Begum, Fatima Khatun, Mojur Rahman, Habi Ullah, and Sobika Begum.
Vigilant monitoring by Assam Police has been instrumental in maintaining strict border security, thereby preventing illegal crossings. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the efforts, stating, "Taking a firm stance against infiltration, @assampolice pushed back 9 Bangladeshis and 8 children across the border in the wee hours today. Good job!"
A tweet from Chief Minister Sarma encapsulated the successful operation, emphasizing sector-specific achievements in border control. The intruders were promptly sent back to Bangladesh, highlighting Assam Police’s continuous efforts in safeguarding the state’s boundaries against illegal infiltration.
Earlier, on September 23, a joint operation by Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted an attempt by three Bangladeshi nationals to illegally enter India through the international border.
