Epic Energy Surge: The Electric Atmosphere in E-Com War Rooms as Amazon & Flipkart Sales Ignite!
At the stroke of midnight, as the biggest festival season sales launched, millions of online shoppers flooded Amazon and Flipkart for the best deals. At Flipkart’s headquarters, the company’s CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy, along with the leadership team, kicked off the 11th edition of The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2024 with an address that emphasized teamwork.
Meanwhile, over at Amazon’s war rooms, the atmosphere was buzzing with activity. Unlike last year, Amazon has expanded its war rooms from 10 to over 20, each fitted with real-time data dashboards to monitor website traffic, sales performance, and customer sentiment. Vice President Saurabh Srivastava highlighted that extensive preparations had gone into ensuring smooth operations. To meet increased demand, Amazon has added three new fulfillment centers, contributing to a network with over 43 million cubic feet of storage space and 2,000 delivery stations.
Flipkart also ramped up its operations, launching 11 new fulfillment centers and creating 100,000 jobs across more than 40 regions. The company focused on employee wellness with games and recreational activities, and has enhanced its supply chain tech for faster deliveries.
Other e-commerce platforms like Meesho are also jumping into the fray, preparing for their Mega Blockbuster Sale with vibrant decorations, real-time metric tracking, and employee engagement activities.
Datum Intelligence predicts that e-commerce companies will ship $12 billion worth of merchandise during this festive season, marking a 23% increase from last year’s $9.7 billion.
