Candidates who applied for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 will be able to correct certain details in their applications from 10 am on October 5 to 5 pm on October 6. The limited correction window will apply only to the photograph, signature and test state or city preferences. No extension is expected beyond the deadline.
The registration process for CAT 2026 opened on August 3 and closed on September 15. Only candidates who completed registration and paid the applicable fee will be eligible to make corrections. Those who miss the two-day window will not be allowed to update their applications.
The computer-based CAT 2026 examination is scheduled for Sunday, November 29, across three sessions. It will serve as the entrance test for management programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Candidates can download their admit cards from the official CAT website between November 4 and November 29.
Aspirants must have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 per cent marks or an equivalent CGPA to be eligible. The minimum requirement is 45 per cent for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories. Candidates in the final year of their degree or awaiting their final results may also apply, but shortlisted candidates must provide proof of completing their degree by the prescribed date.
The CAT 2026 results are expected to be declared in the first week of January 2027. Candidates will be able to access their scorecards on the official website and may also receive an SMS alert. Scores will remain valid until December 31, 2027.
Although CAT performance is essential for admission to IIM programmes, each institute will conduct its own selection process. IIMs may also consider factors such as academic history, work experience and performance in subsequent selection stages. Meeting the minimum CAT eligibility requirements does not guarantee shortlisting or admission.
