Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bosiram Siram has urged the Centre to send a joint all‑party parliamentary delegation to assess ground realities along the India‑China border in the Taksing sector of Upper Subansiri district, the APCC said. Siram’s call followed a four‑day visit to the remote frontier area during which he reviewed security and livelihood concerns of border residents, the party statement said on Saturday.
Accompanied by senior party leaders, including working president Tanga Byaling and several general secretaries, Siram traversed difficult terrain to evaluate conditions faced by frontier communities. The delegation interacted with Army personnel stationed in the Taksing‑Maza‑Limeking and Sira sectors and received briefings on operational dynamics, while carrying the Indian tricolour and raising patriotic slogans.
The team also paid solemn homage to Havildar Shere Tapa, who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1962 Sino‑Indian War. Siram emphasized that Taksing should be viewed as the nation’s frontline rather than a distant periphery and said firsthand observation by elected leaders was necessary to understand local challenges.
Siram urged leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties to visit the border to strengthen democratic oversight and build national consensus on measures needed to safeguard security and support the livelihoods of border populations.
