Seventy-seven pilgrims from the Isha Foundation remain unaccounted for after a massive flash flood struck areas near the China–Nepal border two days ago, the group’s coordinator said, and there has been no update on their whereabouts. The missing group, organised by Isha Foundation — founded by Indian spiritual leader Jaggi Vasudev, known as Sadhguru — has been out of contact since the disaster.
Maa Gambhiri, a coordinator with the group, told PTI that Sadhguru had sought permission to visit Gyirong, which she described as the ground zero of the disaster, to offer help but did not receive the necessary approval. She said the group included participants from 19 nationalities.
Gambhiri said the organisers had contacted every relevant embassy in India, China and Nepal and reached out to various government offices and ministries in India and Nepal to request information and support. No further details about the group’s last known location or the progress of any official response were provided.
