Awarapan 2 Day 6 Box Office: Emraan & Disha, Drop Near ₹110Cr
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2, which opened in theatres on August 14, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in India after its sixth day, taking its India net collection to Rs 107.50 crore, Sacnilk reports. The film’s India gross stands at Rs 128.29 crore and its worldwide gross at Rs 153.59 crore, figures that underline a strong early run despite a midweek dip on day six.
The sequel opened with Rs 22 crore on its first Friday and saw a roughly 55 percent jump to Rs 33.75 crore on Saturday, a surge aided by the Independence Day holiday and an increase in the number of shows from 9,033 on Friday to 10,496 on Saturday. Sunday collections came in at Rs 26 crore, rounding off an impressive opening weekend.
Awarapan 2 cleared the usual “Monday test” with Rs 9.25 crore and held steady on Tuesday with Rs 9.75 crore as weekday footfall remained healthy. On Wednesday, the film experienced a 16 percent decline, earning Rs 6.75 crore on its sixth day. Taken together, the first six days’ day-wise numbers reflect a solid commercial start for the film.
The sequel is drawing on the enduring popularity of the original Awarapan, which developed cult status over time for its music and emotional core. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi, and its early box-office trajectory places it within striking distance of the Rs 110 crore India net milestone.
