The Automation and Robotics Association (AURA) of Gauhati University has been recognised by the Book of World Records for organising the “Largest University Student-Led Robotics Summer Camp in North-East India in a Single Venue for Four Consecutive Days” during the AURA Robotics Summer Camp 2026. The four-day programme introduced school students to practical robotics, STEM education and emerging technologies through concentrated, hands-on sessions.
Led by Pritam Das and Harish Dutta, the camp offered participants practical projects and guided activities that encouraged learning beyond conventional classroom instruction. Students built and tested robotic systems, explored core STEM concepts and experimented with real-world applications under student-led supervision.
According to the certificate issued by the Book of World Records, AURA earned recognition for promoting robotics, STEM education and technological learning through this student-led initiative. The award highlights the association’s role in making technology education accessible and engaging for younger learners.
AURA Board members formally presented the World Record certificate to Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta and Registrar Prof. Utpal Sarma, calling the achievement a proud moment for the university community. Board representatives said the recognition reflects more than a single record; it underscores students’ capacity to lead and create educational platforms for others.
Following the recognition, AURA announced plans to expand its activities in STEM education, innovation and student-led initiatives, with a particular focus on connecting practical learning opportunities to students at the grassroots level. The achievement adds a notable milestone to AURA’s ongoing efforts to promote student-driven innovation and robotics education across Assam and the wider North-East.
