South Garo Hills: Government Inaugurates Gare Nengjabing School
BAGHMARA: Residents of Gare Nengjabing (also spelled Gare Nengbing) in South Garo Hills say the village school has been left in a neglected state, disrupting regular teaching and affecting local children’s education. Community members report shortages of teachers and inadequate facilities, which they say have forced classes to be irregular and left students without proper learning support.
Locals told officials in the Baghmara Community Development Block and the Sub‑District about the school’s problems and demanded urgent intervention. According to residents, the issues include a lack of staff and deteriorating infrastructure that make it difficult to run normal school activities and to provide a safe, consistent learning environment for pupils.
Community leaders say they have repeatedly raised the matter with education authorities, asking for prompt repairs, deployment of teachers, and basic educational supplies so that children can return to full‑time schooling. They warn that continued neglect could hamper attendance and learning outcomes for the village’s students.
Officials at the block and sub‑district level have been informed of the grievances, and community members say they expect remedial measures to be taken. Parents and local leaders say they will monitor follow‑up actions and press for concrete timelines to restore regular teaching and improve conditions at the school.
