The District Magistrate of Kokrajhar has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2025, scheduled for July 5, 2025, at Kokrajhar University. The order aims to prevent disruptions and protect the integrity of the recruitment exam.
According to the official directive, the preliminary exam will be held in two shifts at Kokrajhar University: from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The administration has placed restrictions in and around the examination venue to minimise any chance of malpractice or disturbance.
As part of the measures, assembly of persons within a 100-metre radius of the examination centre is prohibited, with exceptions only for registered candidates, authorised scribes and officials engaged in examination duties. Candidates have been expressly directed not to carry mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth-enabled devices, earphones, electronic gadgets, written materials or any other items that could facilitate unfair practices.
The order also bans illegal parking and any form of traffic obstruction within 100 metres of the centre to ensure unhindered movement and access for examinees and officials. In addition, the use of loudspeakers and high-decibel sound systems has been restricted within a 200-metre radius to maintain a quiet and conducive examination environment.
The district administration said these measures were instituted to uphold examination integrity and ensure orderly conduct of the recruitment process. Candidates and local residents have been urged to cooperate with officials and follow the directives to avoid inconveniences on the examination day.
