Tirap Celebrates Inspiring Tribal Girls Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
Meritorious tribal girl students from across Tirap district were felicitated under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme at the DC Conference Hall in Khonsa on June 17. The Department of Women and Child Development, Tirap, organised the programme to recognise outstanding performances by local tribal girls in the Class X and Class XII board examinations.
Deputy Commissioner of Tirap, Techu Aran, praised the awardees and stressed the need to give daughters equal opportunities. “Girls today are excelling in every sphere of life. Whether in academics, competitive examinations or leadership roles, they are proving their capabilities and often outperforming boys. Parents who have daughters are truly fortunate. We must give our girls every opportunity to learn, grow and achieve their dreams,” he said, congratulating students for their hard work and urging parents to continue investing in girls’ education.
