New Dibrugarh Stadium: A Game-Changer for Upper Assam Sports
Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Dibrugarh MP Sarbananda Sonowal visited the newly constructed stadium at Khanikar in Dibrugarh on Tuesday, June 2, to review its infrastructure, facilities and progress and to assess its readiness for future use. The inspection focused on amenities already in place and ongoing works intended to strengthen sporting activities across the district and Upper Assam.

The Union Minister emphasised that building and strengthening sports infrastructure is essential to create opportunities for young athletes, to foster a culture of excellence, and to identify and train emerging talent from the region. He urged stakeholders to plan programmes that link the facility to talent development and regular competitive events.
