Manipur: ANSAM Demands Justice for Six Missing Naga Men
Imphal: The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has expressed strong outrage and demanded accountability over the continued disappearance of six Naga men who were allegedly abducted by suspected Kuki militants at Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13. ANSAM said the six remain unaccounted for following the incident and called for answers from authorities.
ANSAM said the six missing men were among 18 Nagas taken during the same incident, which also included a two‑year‑old child. The students’ body described the disappearances as deeply alarming and said the community is distraught over the unresolved fate of those seized.
The association has sought accountability for the abductions and urged that investigations be conducted to locate the missing and determine responsibility. ANSAM’s statement highlighted the urgency of clarifying the circumstances of the May 13 incident and ensuring the safety of civilians caught up in the violence.
The continued unavailability of the six men has escalated tensions and raised fresh demands from Naga representatives for prompt and transparent action. Authorities have not been quoted in ANSAM’s statement provided to the press.
