Kokrajhar: A monthly revenue collection meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Dr P Uday Praveen, District Commissioner, Kokrajhar, to review progress in revenue mobilization across the district. The commissioner conducted a detailed department-wise assessment of collection performance, comparing actual receipts with assigned targets and identifying areas of shortfall. Emphasizing the importance of efficient revenue mobilization, he issued directions to concerned departments to strengthen collection mechanisms, improve coordination and ensure timely achievement of revenue targets.
Officials provided a department-by-department account of receipts and gaps against targets during the review, after which the district commissioner outlined steps to address weaknesses. He urged tighter procedures, better inter-departmental communication and regular monitoring to close shortfalls and accelerate collections where required.
The administration said the measures are intended to reinforce revenue systems and coordination across departments so that district targets are met within the stipulated timelines.
