The Assam AVGC‑XR Development Association (AADA) has announced IGNITE 2026, a one‑day industry interaction and film showcase focused on the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC‑XR) sector. The event is scheduled for May 15, 2026, at Gauhati University and will bring together industry professionals, creators and students for knowledge sharing and screenings.
IGNITE 2026 aims to spotlight the region’s growing creative economy and provide a platform for networking between studios, technology providers and emerging talent. The AVGC‑XR umbrella covers animation, VFX, game development, comics and immersive XR technologies; the showcase is expected to feature short films, demos and industry conversations that illustrate those disciplines.
Organised in collaboration with the Software Technology Parks of India and media partners, the event will combine formal industry interaction sessions with film presentations to foster collaboration and visibility for Assam’s creative workforce. AADA says the format is intended to encourage partnerships, skills development and greater uptake of AVGC‑XR projects in the Northeast.
