আমূলৰ দুধৰ মূল্য বৃদ্ধি: ১৪ মে’ৰ পৰা প্ৰতি লিটাৰ ২ টকা নতুন মূল্য
Amul, one of India’s leading dairy producers, has again raised its milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across several popular variants, the company announced on Tuesday. The hike will take effect nationwide from May 14 and is expected to put further pressure on household budgets as families absorb higher costs for a staple food item.
The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under the Amul brand, said the increase is driven by rising costs for cattle feed and packaging materials. It also cited higher transportation and production expenses as reasons that dairy companies across the country are facing financial strain.
The price rise applies to a range of Amul products including Amul Gold, Amul Taaza, cow milk, buffalo milk, Slim & Trim, standard milk and T-Special. Under the new rates, Amul Gold will move from Rs 68 to Rs 70 per litre; buffalo milk will increase from Rs 74 to Rs 76 per litre; cow milk will rise from Rs 58 to Rs 60 per litre; and Slim & Trim will go from Rs 50 to Rs 52 per litre. Other variants are expected to see similar increases.
This is the second major price revision by Amul within a short period. The company had previously raised milk prices by Rs 2 per litre on May 1, 2025, and in June last year it increased rates for several variants by Rs 2–3. Industry observers say the frequent hikes reflect sustained cost pressures throughout the dairy sector.
Milk is an essential daily item for millions of Indian households, so repeated price rises are likely to have a direct impact on monthly household expenses. Small businesses that rely on milk-tea stalls, restaurants, sweet shops and other micro-enterprises-may also face tighter margins as they absorb or pass on the higher costs to consumers.
