মুম্বাইত গ্ল’ভছ-পেডত ১,৭৪৫ কোটি টকাৰ ড্ৰাগছ উদ্ধাৰ — চাঞ্চল্যকৰ সন্ধান
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) carried out coordinated raids in the Navi Mumbai–Thane corridor, seizing a total of 349 kg of cocaine with an estimated market value of about Rs 1,745 crore. Officials described the operation as a major success against an international drug trafficking ring and said the seizures followed information received from a confidential source.
According to the NCB, the first raid was conducted near the KWC warehouse complex in Kalamboli. Officers intercepted a Maruti vehicle and, during a search, found the narcotics concealed inside cricket pads and gloves. That consignment contained 136 one‑kilogram packets of cocaine. One person was arrested at the scene; subsequent questioning reportedly revealed the location of an additional stash.
Acting on that lead, investigators mounted a second raid at a warehouse in Rehnal village in the Bhiwandi area, reportedly linked to a site near Lakshman Chowdhary. There, they recovered a further 213 one‑kilogram packets of cocaine. Together, the two operations yielded 349 kilograms of the drug.
NCB sources said the seized consignments appeared to have been hidden inside otherwise empty shipments to facilitate illicit distribution. The bureau is continuing its probe and interrogations to trace the trafficking network and identify other suspects and supply chains.
Central Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the action, saying the central government is determined to uproot drug syndicates and praised the NCB team for dismantling what he termed a major international ring. The agency has indicated further arrests and searches may follow as the investigation unfolds.
