
Manipur: Assam Rifles DIG, UNC Hold Crucial Talks on Ukhrul Security
Assam Rifles officials met with a delegation of the United Naga Council (UNC), led by UNC President NG Lorho, at Jawalamukhi Garrison in Liarouching, Senapati district, on Tuesday to discuss the security situation in neighbouring Ukhrul, the Defence PRO and spokesperson for Manipur, Nagaland and southern Arunachal Pradesh said. The interaction was facilitated by Assam Rifles and involved senior security personnel, including the force’s Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and UNC representatives.
According to the spokesperson, the talks focused on the prevailing security environment in Ukhrul. No further details of the discussions were released in the statement cited by the defence office.
The meeting underscores ongoing engagement between security forces and local stakeholders as authorities monitor and address tensions in parts of Manipur.
