In the Class 10 examinations, conducted between February 23 and March 23, 2026, the overall pass rate reached an impressive 92.10%. Among the candidates, girls achieved a remarkable pass percentage of 96.07%, while boys recorded 88.03%. Akshat Gopal from Ramnagar, Nainital district, emerged as the state topper with an outstanding score of 98.20%. Overall, out of 112,266 students registered, 108,983 participated in the exams, leading to a total of 100,373 students successfully passing.
The Class 12 examinations, held from February 21 to March 20, 2026, saw a lower overall pass percentage of 85.11%. In this category, girls also excelled with a pass rate of 88.09%, compared to 81.93% for boys. The top scorers, Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Sushila Mendiratta from Udham Singh Nagar, each achieved a remarkable 98%. Bageshwar was highlighted for its exceptional performance in the Class 12 results, topping the district charts with a pass percentage of 94.81%.
Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat announced the results from the UBSE office in Ramnagar, setting the stage for students’ next steps. To access their results, students need to enter their login credentials, including their roll numbers, on the official UBSE websites. The scores will also be available on the Hindustan Times Education portal once the links are activated. Additionally, for students without internet access, results can be checked via SMS by sending a text in the format “UT12 Roll Number” to 5676750.
The examination timeline for 2026 confirmed that these assessments were held offline during a single morning shift from 10 AM to 1 PM. The Class 10 exams began with Hindustani Music (Melodic) and concluded with Hindustani Music (Vocal and Percussion), while the Class 12 exams commenced with Drawing and Painting, finishing with language papers.
The disappointing trend for boys’ performance continues this year, sparking discussions about needed reforms and support strategies in schools to bridge the achievement gap. Notably, students from hilly regions notably outperformed their urban counterparts, emphasizing the diverse educational landscape of Uttarakhand.
As students celebrate their achievements, many are now looking towards their next educational paths. Notable institutions such as Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumaun University, and IIT Roorkee stand out as viable options for higher education.
In summary, the UBSE results for 2026 highlight gender disparities in academic performance, significant successes in specific districts, and provide students with comprehensive options for viewing their scores and planning their futures. The noteworthy performance of girls across both classes continues to inspire a generation of students in Uttarakhand.
