
Stunning 92.23% Pass Rate: Girls Dominate Top Ranks
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Manipur, on Monday, April 20, 2026, announced the Class 12 (Higher Secondary) examination results, reporting an overall pass percentage of 92.23%. The declaration, made in Imphal, covers students from the Science, Arts and Commerce streams who sat the exams earlier this year.
Of the 31,259 candidates who appeared, 28,829 passed, officials said, producing the 92.23% overall pass rate. Stream-wise, the Science stream led with a 93.28% pass rate, followed by Arts at 89.87% and Commerce at 82.57%.
The state’s higher secondary examinations were conducted from February 17 to March 20, 2026. In the Science stream, Takhellambam Kalpana Devi and Yohen Longjam topped with 490 marks each. Sarangthem Ayingbi Chanu topped the Arts stream with 470 marks, while Thoihenba Thongam led Commerce with 454 marks.
Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh praised the performance of girl students, saying, “It is a proud and exemplary moment for Nari Shakti,” and noted that girls featured among the top ten rank holders across all streams. He extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the students for their future endeavours.
The results underscore strong overall performance across Manipur’s higher secondary cohorts, with particularly high achievement in Science and notable representation of female students among the top rankers.
