The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is poised to unveil the Class 10 board results for 2026 imminently. This year, the results are anticipated to arrive ahead of schedule, driven by the second phase of board examinations set for May 2026. Approximately 43 lakh students, including nearly 25 lakh Class 10 candidates, are eagerly awaiting their scores.
While the CBSE has yet to issue an official statement confirming the precise release date and time for the Class 10 results, indication of a forthcoming announcement has surfaced. DigiLocker has advised students to prepare by setting up their accounts, prompting speculation that results will be available very soon. As for Class 12 results, these are expected to be announced in the second week of May 2026. Last year, both Class 10 and Class 12 results were declared on May 13, but with the Class 10 board exams scheduled to resume on May 15, the release of these results will likely take precedence.
The evaluation process for the answer sheets is set to be efficient this year. Examiners will assess 20 answer sheets daily for major subjects and 25 for others, logging eight-hour shifts. Thanks to the implementation of On-Screen Marking, the evaluation is projected to wrap up within nine days, a notable improvement from the previous 12-day timeframe for Class 12.
In a progressive step, CBSE has introduced a secondary board examination system, providing students the opportunity to improve their scores in up to three subjects. This initiative aims to support students who seek better academic performance. Additionally, the board’s Grace Marks Policy will assist candidates who fall short by one or two marks in Class 10, ensuring that those who achieve at least 33 percent overall will pass.
Examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 commenced on February 17, 2026, with Class 10 concluding on March 11, followed by Class 12 ending on April 10, 2026.
