Amit Shah to Lead Mega Yuva Shakti in Guwahati — 1.5 Lakh Youth
A mass youth mobilisation, the “Yuva Shakti Samaroh”, is set to be held at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, Guwahati, and will be addressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Organisers say the rally is expected to draw nearly 1.5 lakh youths from across Assam, making it one of the largest youth gatherings the state has seen in recent years.
The event is being staged by the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and several senior party leaders are also scheduled to attend.
Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika described the rally as a potentially historic moment for the state’s political landscape, saying such large-scale mobilisation of young people has “rarely been witnessed in Assam.” He added that in his nearly three decades of involvement with youth organisations he has “never seen preparations of such magnitude.”
According to Hazarika, the scale of planning and turnout reflects growing enthusiasm and political engagement among Assam’s youth, a development organisers hope will translate into stronger grassroots support.
Political observers view the gathering as a significant show of strength by the ruling party, aimed at mobilising young voters and expanding its organisational base ahead of future electoral contests.
With thousands expected to arrive from districts across the state, security and logistical measures around the Khanapara venue have been stepped up to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
