Unexpected Titanic-Style Statue of Trump and Epstein Near Capitol Hill Sparks Controversy: A Tragic Love Story Unveiled!
A striking new satirical statue depicting former President Donald Trump alongside the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was unveiled on the National Mall near the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday. This life-sized sculpture, titled “King of the World,” draws inspiration from the iconic pose in the 1997 film Titanic, showing the two figures at the ship’s prow. The installation serves as a provocative commentary on their controversial friendship, highlighted by a plaque that reads, “The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches. This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on similar foundations.”
The statue installation, accomplished by an anonymous group known as “The Secret Handshake,” attracted attention from tourists, many of whom stopped to document the moment. The statue was situated against a backdrop of banners emblazoned with photos of Trump and Epstein, accompanied by the phrase “Make America Safe Again.” This setting added another layer of irony, juxtaposed with a nearby banner featuring Trump.
The unveiling of “King of the World” isn’t the first artistic endeavor by The Secret Handshake. In September, the group erected a previous statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands in front of the Capitol, which was swiftly removed. Their portfolio also includes a satirical sculpture ridiculing the January 6 rioters and a humorous replica of a birthday letter Trump allegedly sent to Epstein.
That controversial letter is a significant point of interest, reportedly crafted for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. It was published by The Wall Street Journal in 2025 and later circulated by House Democrats as part of a “birthday book” compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell. The note includes a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman along with typewritten text that reads, “A pal is a wonderful thing,” expressing a close relationship. It concludes with an evocative “Happy Birthday-and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump has adamantly denied the authenticity of the letter, labeling it as a “fake thing” and stating the words are not his, even filing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Journal.
Despite the White House’s insistence that the signature is fraudulent, the letter remains central to ongoing congressional investigations related to Epstein. The recent release of documents from the Department of Justice unveiled further accusations against Trump, including an allegation of sexual assault by a woman, which White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed as “completely baseless” and “backed by zero credible evidence.”
This latest statue not only critiques the relationships and dealings surrounding Trump and Epstein but also serves as a reflection on the broader implications of their connections in American political and social landscapes. As discussions around these figures continue to unfold, the “King of the World” sculpture stands as a stark emblem of their complicated and troubling history.
