Tragic Collision: 40+ Injured as KSRTC Bus Slams into Parked Lorry in Kerala’s Eramalloor
A serious accident occurred near the Kochuveli Junction in Eramalloor, Alappuzha district, on Saturday at approximately 11 a.m., when a KSRTC superfast bus collided with a parked lorry. The bus, which was traveling from Kollam to Palakkad, lost control and crashed into the stationary vehicle, leading to injuries for at least 40 individuals.
Of the injured, two bus passengers sustained critical injuries and required immediate medical attention. According to hospital sources, 23 of those injured, including the bus conductor, were admitted to VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Nettoor, situated about 13 kilometers from the accident site. Reports indicate that many of the injured suffered facial, neck, and chest trauma due to the impact.
An officer from the Aroor police mentioned that the bus was operating at full capacity at the time of the crash, indicating a large number of passengers on board. “Around 10 people who escaped unhurt were later sent on other buses to continue their journey,” the officer noted.
