Tragic Bengaluru Case: Woman’s Suicide After Sambar Dispute
A 27-year-old woman identified as Kavya died after allegedly consuming pesticide following an argument with her husband in Bengaluru on Thursday (March 5, 2026), police said. The dispute reportedly began after she reheated and served sambar that had been prepared three days earlier. She was married to Rangaswamy and is survived by a four-year-old child.
According to initial information, the couple-married for five years-argued over the food, and the discussion escalated into a heated exchange during which the husband allegedly verbally abused her and tried to assault her. Following the confrontation, family members say Kavya consumed an agricultural pesticide kept in the house.
Relatives noticed she was unwell and began vomiting; she was rushed to a hospital but died on the way, police officials told reporters. Her body was taken to the government hospital for a post‑mortem examination.
A case has been registered at the local police station and further investigation is underway, authorities said.
