Emirates Resumes Flights: Soar Back to Adventure as El Al Considers Luxurious Private Jet Options!
A passenger from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, named Mohd Umardaraz, found himself stranded at Delhi’s Terminal-3 after his flight to Kuwait was canceled due to airspace restrictions affecting Iran and parts of the Middle East on March 1, 2026. This disruption follows a series of U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, which prompted retaliatory attacks and forced travelers across the region to face significant travel challenges.
In the wake of thousands of flight cancellations globally, Emirates airline has received the green light from local authorities to resume a limited number of flights starting Monday evening. This development signals a cautious effort to restore air travel amidst ongoing tensions. Meanwhile, Israeli airline El Al announced that it is exploring options to charter private jets for stranded Israeli citizens, highlighting the urgency of addressing the situation for those affected.
The weekend saw a near-total halt in air travel over substantial parts of the Middle East, stranding hundreds of thousands of passengers worldwide. Notably, many flights were impacted-even those not directly scheduled to or from the area-due to transit restrictions imposed across critical airspace.
Dubai, a major global aviation hub, is beginning to see a gradual resumption of services. The Dubai airport authority reported that a select number of flights would be allowed to operate from both Dubai International and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International. Travelers are strongly advised to check with their respective airlines for updates before heading to the airport.
Emirates emphasized that it will prioritize accommodating customers who had previously booked flights while cautioning others not to go to the airport until they receive notifications from the airline. “All other flights remain suspended until further notice,” the airline stated on X.
In addition to Emirates, El Al is contemplating the operation of flights using KlasJet aircraft from select European airports to Taba, Egypt, or Aqaba in Jordan, offering an alternative route for their clients, pending government approval. Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, on the other hand, has suspended all commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi until at least Wednesday afternoon local time. However, the airline has indicated a willingness to operate cargo and repatriation flights under stringent operational and safety protocols.
