Shocking: Assam Physiotherapist Found Dead Near Cuttack Home
A physiotherapist from Assam, identified as 28-year-old Ruhan Kakati, was found dead near his rented home in Olatpur, Cuttack district, on February 26, police said. Authorities say the body was discovered on the morning of Thursday, February 26, and preliminary enquiries indicate he may have fallen from the third floor of the three-storey building where he lived.
Kakati had completed his physiotherapy studies in Assam before moving to Olatpur nearly four years ago to undertake an internship at the Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR), police officials said. After finishing his internship he continued to live in the town, practising physiotherapy locally and reportedly staying alone in the rented accommodation.
A neighbour in the same building noticed Kakati’s body and alerted the Olatpur police station, who responded to the scene. An officer at the station said early investigation points to a possible fall from the third floor, but stressed that the exact cause of death has not been confirmed.
Police have taken custody of the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. Further investigation is underway, and officials said they will release more details as enquiries progress.
