Discover Expert Care at Baghmara Hospital: Your Health Matters
Baghmara: Concerns have been raised regarding the availability of doctors at the Baghmara Civil Hospital, according to Greneth Sangma, a local social activist and government representative from South Garo Hills. Sangma highlighted issues relating to the hospital’s medical staff, stating that patients often face difficulties due to a shortage of doctors during hospital hours.
He emphasized the urgent need for qualified medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, pointing out that the outpatient department often lacks adequate staffing. “There should be doctors available for general consultations and specialized services like sonography. The hospital must ensure that enough doctors are present to meet patient needs,” Sangma stated.
Currently, Baghmara Civil Hospital has diploma-holding doctors and general medical officers. However, there is a pressing demand for specialist doctors, which the hospital has yet to fulfill. Sangma pointed out that the hospital’s administration needs to take immediate action to improve staffing levels.
Additionally, he noted that doctors and nurses from Williamnagar and various district headquarters have expressed concerns about the working conditions at Baghmara Civil Hospital. Sangma’s comments shed light on the necessity for the administration to prioritize staffing issues.
The Medical Central Board has indicated that there are currently only ten senior medical officers and specialists at Baghmara Civil Hospital. Sangma called for the recruitment of more senior medical staff to ensure better healthcare services for the local population.
