The road connecting Bishnupur to the Natun Basti area has remained in dire disrepair for approximately seven months, with residents voicing their frustrations through multiple complaints. Despite these efforts, no significant action has been taken to address the issue.
Aakash Das, a resident of Natun Basti, expressed his disappointment, stating, “We have filed multiple complaints with our ward councilor, but nothing has been done so far. Motorists and commuters face a lot of issues due to the potholes.” Many residents are concerned about the safety hazards posed by the deteriorating road conditions.
Motorist Mukesh Kumar shared a recent close call, saying, “I nearly escaped an accident on the stretch due to potholes. I was driving at high speed and suddenly had to apply the brakes. I was lucky to be saved.” Such incidents underline the urgent need for repairs.
Ward councillor Brijesh Roy acknowledged the problem, stating, “We have already spoken with the Public Works Department for the road repairs. Funds have been allocated for this purpose, and work will start soon in the area.” However, when asked about the timeline a month ago, he had assured that repairs would commence shortly, yet the situation remains unchanged.
Residents of the Bishnupur-Natun Basti area continue to hope for timely action to repair the damaged roads and improve safety for all who travel on this route.
