Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal praised the Motok community on Monday for its significant role in shaping Assam’s cultural, social, and national identity over generations. Speaking at the 86th Central Foundation Day of the All Assam Motok Sanmilan in Dibrugarh, Sonowal highlighted the community’s unwavering commitment to discipline and resilience, observing that these values have been crucial in fostering the state’s development.
Sonowal noted, “The Motok community is known for its unity, determination, and willingness to work hard. When they commit to a goal, they achieve it.” He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to build a self-reliant Assam and urged young leaders within the community to prioritize excellence in various fields, including education, scientific innovation, agriculture, sports, and cultural heritage.
He concluded by stating, “A confident and self-reliant Motok society will pave the way for a stronger, self-reliant Assam.” This call to action reflects a vision for greater community engagement and empowerment, setting a foundation for future growth and sustainability in the region.
