The four-day National Tribal Film Festival and Carnival commenced in Imphal on Wednesday, spotlighting 23 tribal films from nine states and celebrating India’s rich tribal heritage through cinema and culture. Anurag Bajpai, the Additional Chief Secretary of Manipur, remarked that the festival is part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh celebrations, aimed at promoting and celebrating tribal cinema, culture, and creative expression from across the nation’s tribal communities. Scheduled from November 12 to 15, the festival is taking place at the City Convention Centre and the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) complex. Featured films hail from Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur, underscoring the diversity of tribal narratives showcased at this significant cultural event.
