Assam Man Detained Over Controversial Social Media Post on Delhi Blast
A police team, led by the Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), has arrested Navi Hussain, a resident of Station Road in Barpeta Road (Ward No. 5), for allegedly making offensive comments on social media related to the recent Delhi blast. The inquiry revealed that Hussain had left his home in Barpeta Road back in 2012 and has since been frequently moving, staying at different mosques in the Barpeta, Goalpara, and Bajali districts. Authorities noted that he used a phone number registered in the name of Abdul Kalam, a resident of Sukmanah in Bajali district.
On Thursday, November 13, at around 10:30 p.m., the police apprehended Hussain at the ADP Nur Nabi Masjid in Purbalowasor, where he had been residing for the last four months. The police have stated that Hussain is currently undergoing interrogation, and an investigation is ongoing to understand his intentions, online activities, and any potential connections he might have.
