Agencies Unveil Multi-State Investigation as Modi Promises Justice
Following the recent blast at the Red Fort, security agencies in India, under the guidance of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, have traced several leads related to a terror module linked to the attack, excluding the suicide bomber responsible for the Metro parking explosion, according to a report from India Today. The attacker had been under surveillance following the emergence of pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed posters in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Investigations ramped up significantly when large amounts of cash, ammonium nitrate, and assault rifles were discovered in Faridabad, near Delhi.
Authorities are currently investigating connections to Pakistani handlers who are believed to have communicated through the messaging platform Telegram. Evidence indicates that the terror network spans several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
In Uttar Pradesh, Bilal Khan from Saharanpur has been arrested for connections to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Investigators have traced over 4,000 Pakistani phone numbers linked to him, revealing attempts to establish an online network aimed at enforcing a violent interpretation of Sharia law.
In Gujarat, three individuals-Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, Azad Suleman Sheikh, and Mohammed Suhail Mohammad Saleem-were arrested for plotting to develop chemical weapons. Authorities seized pistols, explosives, and materials associated with ricin, with the group reportedly coordinating with the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) operating in Afghanistan.
Additionally, police officials dismantled a multi-state network associated with JeM and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind that operates across Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. Eight individuals, including three doctors, were arrested for their involvement in recruitment, radicalization, arms procurement, and the preparation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Among the seized items were 2,900 kg of explosives, firearms, chemicals, and various electronic components.
