Unveiling the Truth: Russia Denies Nuclear Test Order Amid Trump’s Bold Claims-A Shocking Twist!

President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed that Russia has no intention of conducting nuclear tests and remains committed to its moratorium on such activities, according to a statement from the Kremlin on Sunday. This declaration comes shortly after US President Donald Trump suggested a potential change in the nuclear weapons stance in an October 29 post on Truth Social.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Putin has consistently stated Russia’s adherence to nuclear test bans, asserting, “We are not going to carry them out, but if another country does, we will have to do so to observe parity.” He underscored that maintaining nuclear parity is vital for global security, notably if the United States decides to resume testing. Peskov’s remarks reflect a broader strategy aiming to uphold international stability amid rising tensions.

In Trump’s social media post, he claimed to have directed the Department of War to begin nuclear weapons tests “on an equal basis.” He noted that the U.S. currently possesses more nuclear weapons than any other nation, attributing this capability to modernization efforts initiated during his presidency. While recognizing Russia as a significant nuclear power, he described China as a distant third but suggested its capabilities could grow significantly in the next five years.

In a parallel diplomatic development, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov responded to Putin’s proposal for the U.S. to maintain a quantitative freeze on strategic weapons as the New START treaty nears expiration. Lavrov expressed that Moscow is awaiting feedback from Washington and believes the proposal serves the interests of both nations and the global community. He commented, “The constructive initiative put forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the post-New START sphere speaks for itself… We see no need for in-depth discussion of our idea.”

Despite ongoing diplomatic communications, Lavrov indicated that there has been no substantial response from the U.S. “We are told through diplomatic channels that the matter is being considered… However, we hope the outcome will be positive,” he remarked.

The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), which the U.S. and Russia signed in 2010, places limits on the number of deployed warheads and delivery systems for both nations. It came into force in February 2011, requiring each side to reduce their arsenals to no more than 1,550 deployed warheads by February 2018. The treaty was subsequently extended for five years but has faced verification challenges due to geopolitical tensions stemming from the Ukraine war.

Moreover, Putin has suggested extending the voluntary moratorium on nuclear tests for an additional year, starting in February 2025. Recent weeks have seen Russia conducting tests on its nuclear-powered “Burevestnik” cruise missile and the “Poseidon” underwater drone, raising concerns in Washington. However, Russian defense commentators clarified that these tests do not constitute nuclear testing in the traditional sense.

Since 1990, Russia has refrained from conducting nuclear tests, as has the U.S. since 1992, both countries adhering to the moratorium on nuclear explosions. As global security dynamics continue to evolve, the interplay between these two nuclear powers remains critical in shaping international relations.
