Applications are now open for recruitment opportunities at Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) in Guwahati, Assam, for the positions of System Operator and Accountant for the year 2025. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
The position of System Operator has one vacancy with a pay scale ranging from Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 60,500, along with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8,000, as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. Candidates must possess at least a Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering from an institution recognized by AICTE and the State Council for Technical Education. Familiarity with both hardware and software in an office environment is essential. Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1, 2025.
For the Accountant position, there is also one vacancy with a similar pay scale of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 60,500, but with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, specializing in accounting, from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks. Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, as well as MS Office applications, is required. Furthermore, candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in accounting and record-keeping in higher education institutions. Knowledge of handling Public Financial Management System (PFMS) is desirable, and applicants must also be aged between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1, 2025.
To apply, candidates need to submit their applications in the prescribed format along with all relevant documents. Importantly, applications must be limited to one per candidate for each position. Applications should be sent in an envelope labeled “Application for the post of [Post Name] (Post Code)”, addressed to the Registrar at Assam Science and Technology University, Tetelia Road, Jalukbari, Guwahati-781013. The dimensions for the application form should measure approximately 21 cm x 29.7 cm (A4 size), and only downloaded forms will be accepted.
The application process will commence on November 3, 2025, and the last date for submission is November 27, 2025. An application processing fee of Rs. 1,000 is required for all applicants, while candidates from reserved categories (ST/SC) need to pay Rs. 500. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via SBI Collect.
