A Heartfelt Tribute to Jubin Garg: Mourning His Ashes and Legacy
The ashes of the beloved Assamese artist, the late Zubin Garg, were immersed today in the Brahmaputra River. Zubin had an immense love for the Brahmaputra, which is why this final farewell was arranged in a manner that reflects the respect for his artistry and devotion to the river.
Following customary rituals, his ashes were released into the river this morning. At the Kashmari ghat in Guwahati, Zubin’s wife, Garima Garg, was seen overwhelmed with grief as she bid farewell to her husband. Family members and numerous admirers gathered to pay their respects.
In a similar ceremony, Zubin’s son, Arun Garg, also performed the immersion of his father’s ashes in the Brahmaputra at Jorhat, organized by the district administration.
During his lifetime, Zubin had expressed a deep connection to the river, stating, “When I die, please immerse me in the Brahmaputra. The Brahmaputra is like my father. I love it more than the ocean. It is the only masculine river in the world.”
Today, honoring his last wish, the final remnants of his mortal body were offered to the vastness of the Brahmaputra.
As she released the ashes, Garima, in her sorrow, cried out, “Zubin will always be with us. He cannot leave us. His blessings will always be upon us.”
