Bikash Axom has been expelled from the Bir Lachit Sena in Assam, following his disappearance, as both of his mobile phones are currently switched off. On October 27, the Bir Lachit Sena organized a press conference in Guwahati to address recent comments made by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma concerning a potential ban on the group.
During the press briefing, Central Chief Secretary Rantu Paniphukan emphasized that any statements made by Bikash Axom on podcasts or YouTube do not reflect the official position of the organization. He stated, “If Bikash Axom has made any inappropriate or distasteful comments, the people of Assam will judge him. A probe committee has already been established to investigate him and another member mentioned in the police FIR.”
Paniphukan underscored that the Bir Lachit Sena has consistently worked to uphold the interests of Assam and its people. He urged that the organization should not be misrepresented due to the actions or remarks of a few individuals, reaffirming its commitment to the Assamese community.
